Safari Overview
Tanzania's northern circuit is the most celebrated wildlife destination on earth, and this 5-day itinerary is its most complete expression - four entirely different ecosystems, four distinct wildlife characters, and five days of immersive game driving that gives you a complete cross-section of what makes northern Tanzania so extraordinary. This is not a highlights package. This is the real safari.
Tarangire opens the journey with Africa's greatest elephant concentrations and its most atmospheric ancient baobab landscape. The Serengeti - the world's most famous park - delivers two full days among the migration herds, big-cat encounters on the open plains, and the tented camp experience that defines the classic African safari. The Ngorongoro Crater concentrates 25,000 animals into a 260km - volcanic caldera for the most reliable Big 5 wildlife viewing on the continent. Lake Manyara closes the circuit with tree-climbing lions, flamingo-pink soda lake shores, and a groundwater forest that surprises every visitor who underestimated it.
Each park is completely different from the others. Each day delivers a distinct character, a new landscape, and a new set of defining wildlife moments. Experienced travellers consistently describe this 5-day itinerary as the finest short safari available in East Africa - a trip that delivers everything, wastes nothing, and leaves every guest saying: I wish I had booked more days.
The Best Value Safari on the Northern Circuit
The 5-day northern circuit safari offers the most complete wildlife experience available in northern Tanzania for its duration. Four parks across five days means a different signature moment every day - elephant mega-herds, migration plains, rhino crater floor, tree-climbing lions - while the per-day cost decreases compared to shorter itineraries. For travellers who can extend beyond 3 days, this is the itinerary that experienced safari operators recommend first.
Daily Itinerary
A full day is set aside for Arusha → Tarangire National Park (Full Day) → Farm of Dreams Lodge, allowing the experience to unfold without a rushed timetable. Inside Tarangire, baobab woodland and the river corridor create varied habitat. Elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope and predators may be encountered, and your guide chooses roads according to current conditions rather than promising particular sightings. On the 5 Days Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara Safari, this is the main focus of day 1.

Your journey begins at the agreed airport or meeting point, where the LuiTours team welcomes you and confirms the day’s transfer. This is a practical travel stage, but the drive also offers a useful first look at the region and its everyday rhythm. On the 5 Days Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara Safari, this is the main focus of day 2.

The day links the Serengeti plains with the cooler Ngorongoro highlands, passing grassland, volcanic slopes and broad viewpoints along the way. Wildlife may be encountered en route, but timing remains flexible and follows current conditions.

A full day is set aside for Ngorongoro Crater Full Day Game Drive → Farm of Dreams Lodge, allowing the experience to unfold without a rushed timetable. The Ngorongoro landscape combines a forested rim with grassland, wetlands and soda-lake habitat on the crater floor. Wildlife can be diverse, but the guide reads conditions carefully and keeps every sighting patient and responsible. On the 5 Days Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara Safari, this is the main focus of day 4.

A full day is set aside for Lake Manyara National Park (Full Day) → Return to Arusha, allowing the experience to unfold without a rushed timetable. Lake Manyara lies beneath the Rift Valley escarpment, with groundwater forest, open floodplain and lakeshore habitat close together. Elephants, baboons, monkeys, antelope and waterbirds may be seen as conditions allow. On the 5 Days Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara Safari, this is the main focus of day 5.
