Safari Overview
Tanzania's northern circuit is the most celebrated wildlife destination on earth - and this 3-day itinerary captures its three most distinct and rewarding ecosystems in one intelligently sequenced journey. If you've come to East Africa and have three days to spend in the bush, this is the route that delivers the widest range of experiences and the deepest immersion in Tanzania's extraordinary natural world.
Each of the three parks is completely different from the others. Tarangire is raw Africa at its most atmospheric - a dry-season landscape of enormous baobabs and densely packed wildlife. Ngorongoro is concentrated, almost otherworldly - a collapsed volcanic caldera where 25,000 animals live in permanent abundance. Lake Manyara is lush and surprising - a narrow park squeezed between the Rift Valley escarpment and a soda lake famous for its tree-climbing lions and vast flamingo gatherings.
Together, they form a safari that experienced travellers describe as "the real Tanzania in miniature" - a complete cross-section of what makes the northern circuit the world's great wildlife destination. Two nights are spent at Farm of Dreams Lodge (mid-range; luxury upgrades available), with all meals, park fees, and Land Cruiser game drives included.
Why 3 Days Changes Everything
Adding Lake Manyara to the 2-day Tarangire/Ngorongoro combination is the single best-value upgrade available. The tree-climbing lion behaviour alone is extraordinary - documented only here and in a handful of other locations on earth. The park's birding is world-class. And the landscape - Rift Valley escarpment, groundwater forest, acacia woodland, soda lake - is unlike anything else in Tanzania.
Daily Itinerary
A full day is set aside for Arusha → Tarangire National Park (Full Day) → Farm of Dreams Lodge, allowing the experience to unfold without a rushed timetable. Inside Tarangire, baobab woodland and the river corridor create varied habitat. Elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope and predators may be encountered, and your guide chooses roads according to current conditions rather than promising particular sightings. On the 3 Days Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara Safari, this is the main focus of day 1.

A full day is set aside for Full Day Game Drive → Farm of Dreams Lodge, allowing the experience to unfold without a rushed timetable. The Ngorongoro landscape combines a forested rim with grassland, wetlands and soda-lake habitat on the crater floor. Wildlife can be diverse, but the guide reads conditions carefully and keeps every sighting patient and responsible. On the 3 Days Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara Safari, this is the main focus of day 2.

A full day is set aside for Lake Manyara National Park (Full Day) → Return to Arusha, allowing the experience to unfold without a rushed timetable. Lake Manyara lies beneath the Rift Valley escarpment, with groundwater forest, open floodplain and lakeshore habitat close together. Elephants, baboons, monkeys, antelope and waterbirds may be seen as conditions allow. On the 3 Days Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara Safari, this is the main focus of day 3.
